As a Business Transition Consultant, Doug Sippel is passionate about helping closely held businesses successfully navigate the challenges of transitioning the ownership, leadership, and management of their company. He has a unique perspective, growing up in a multi-generational family business and being a Managing Partner in the business for the past 18 years. He has a wealth of personal experience with the issues closely held businesses face.
Doug founded Leadership Transitions, LLC to help others develop the necessary skills for successful transition of a closely held or family-owned business . He works with owners, family members, and their business stakeholders (Executives, Principals, and Directors) to develop communication, leadership, and delegation skills, as well as, creating an environment with high trust, values, and respect.
He started his first business at the age of 27, providing accounting, payroll, and computer systems services to business owners. Transitioning into the financial services industry, he spent six years as an insurance agent with New York Life, before becoming an Investment Advisor Representative with LPL Financial. He started Titan Financial Associates, advising on wealth preservation, estate planning, and asset transfer strategies.
Doug’s background includes 12 years as a Certified Financial Planner and a degree from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. He is certified as an Exit Planning Advisor, Values Consultant, and Mediator. As a member of the Purposeful Planning Institute, Doug keeps abreast of best practices and cutting-edge processes, and techniques for transition planning.
Doug enjoys the outdoors including hiking, fishing, and golf. He and his wife Cheryl live in Beaverton, Oregon and have three grown children.
